Actress Nina Shipman dies at 88

Actress Nina Shipman has died at the age of 88. She passed away on September 6 from natural causes at a hospital in Gardena, California.

Shipman was a recognizable figure in classic television, notably appearing in ‘The Munsters’ in an episode where she played a beautiful model transformed from Grandpa Munster. She also appeared in ‘The Andy Griffith Show’ as a nurse. Her film career included an uncredited role in Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘Vertigo’ and appearances alongside Bing Crosby in ‘Say One for Me’ and ‘High Time’. Additionally, she starred with Fred MacMurray in the 1959 film ‘The Oregon Trail’.

Born in Los Angeles in 1938, Shipman came from a family deeply involved in the entertainment industry. Her father, Barry Shipman, was a Western writer, her mother, Gwynne Shipman, was an actress, and her grandmother, Nell Shipman, was a silent film star.
