Actress Wan Qianhui reports camera theft in Paris
Chinese actress Wan Qianhui reported the theft of her professional camera while attending Paris Fashion Week in France. The incident occurred near the Eiffel Tower when her team briefly placed the camera on a bench to switch to video equipment.
According to reports, the theft involved a distraction tactic where an individual approached the crew to ask for help with a photo, allowing an accomplice to seize the camera within approximately 30 seconds. The loss is significant as the camera contained an entire day of unbacked-up professional footage for a brand event, including runway and product shots. The memory card alone is valued at over 10,000 yuan.
Wan Qianhui expressed her distress on social media, stating that such an incident would be nearly impossible in China. The crew attempted to search nearby bushes for the discarded memory card but were unsuccessful. The team is planning to report the crime to the police and contact the Chinese embassy, while working to re-shoot necessary content using borrowed equipment.
