Actv implements video surveillance on Venice public transport vessels
Actv has launched the first phase of a video surveillance program on its public transport vessels in Venice. The new internal camera systems have been installed on motorboats, water buses, and small boats, with the initial rollout covering approximately 20 naval units.
The initiative is part of a security protocol for the Metropolitan City of Venice aimed at preventing and countering aggression against passengers and staff. The project was presented at the company's shipyard in Tronchetto in the presence of Mayor Simone Venturini and Prefect Darco Pellos.
Mayor Venturini stated that the installation is a starting point to improve navigation safety for citizens and tourists. The plan includes expanding surveillance to all land-based public transport vehicles by 2027, totaling over 4,000 electronic monitoring points.
