Acueducto Gran Tulum investigation: New hearing set for November 2026

A new hearing has been scheduled for November 10, 2026, regarding the Acueducto Gran Tulum investigation in San Juan, Argentina. The judicial process aims to determine if irregularities occurred during the construction, contracting, and material usage of the water project, including potential overpricing.

The initial hearing, held on October 14, was postponed after two key investigated individuals—former governor and current national senator Sergio Uñac and national deputy Cristian Andino—failed to appear. Defense lawyers cited professional commitments as the reason for their absence. In response, Prosecutor Sebastián Gómez criticized the decision to accept these absences and indicated that the prosecution will request the removal of parliamentary immunity (desafuero) for both Uñac and Andino.

National Deputy Cristian Andino addressed the media, stating he did not intend to evade the court. He explained that his absence was due to legislative obligations in the National Congress and noted that his request to participate via videoconference was denied by the judge. The investigation, which began in December 2025, follows reports of irregularities and has already included searches at the offices of Krah América Latina, a major pipe supplier for the project.
