Acun Ilıcalı and Fenerbahçe legal dispute over VIP box continues

Legal proceedings continue regarding a dispute between businessman Acun Ilıcalı and Fenerbahçe Spor Kulübü over a specific VIP box (number 217). An injunction regarding the box was previously finalized by the Istanbul Regional Court of Justice, 18th Civil Chamber.

Following the opening of a main lawsuit at the Anadolu 10th Consumer Court on September 2, 2026, Fenerbahçe requested the removal of the injunction. On September 4, 2026, the court rejected this request and ruled that the injunction should remain in effect.

Lawyer Hakan Öncel, representing Ilıcalı, stated that Fenerbahçe’s subsequent attempt on September 8, 2026, to submit a petition to the previously closed file at the Istanbul Regional Court of Justice is “clearly contrary to procedure.” Öncel argued that once a main case is opened, any requests to modify or lift an injunction must be handled solely by the court presiding over the main case. Additionally, it was noted that Fenerbahçe had previously filed an individual application with the Constitutional Court regarding the injunction in late August.
