Acura aims for 200,000 annual sales by 2030
Acura has announced a strategic roadmap to reach 200,000 annual sales in the United States by 2030. To achieve this, the automaker plans to expand its current four-model lineup to six models, targeting new segments and increasing its market competitiveness.
Key upcoming developments include the introduction of a new eight-passenger flagship SUV, internally coded as “XL,” which is expected to enter production in the third quarter of 2029. Additionally, the brand is developing an adventure-ready crossover based on the Honda Passport platform, slated for a 2028 release. The lineup will also see the arrival of a fourth-generation RDX Hybrid in 2028, which will be the first Acura model to utilize the company’s two-motor hybrid technology.
Rather than focusing exclusively on electric vehicles, Acura is shifting its strategy toward hybrid and gasoline powertrains, including the development of a new V6 hybrid powertrain for D-Segment models. This approach follows the discontinuation of the ZDX and aims to meet consumer demand for improved towing capabilities and sporty performance.
