Acura unveils Nexera Vision concept to preview new design language

Acura has unveiled the Nexera Vision, a two-seat concept coupe designed to establish the brand’s new visual identity during its 40th anniversary. Debuted at Monterey Car Week, the concept was developed at the Acura Design Studio in California under the direction of Creative Director Yasutake Tsuchida.

The Nexera Vision is a design study rather than a production-bound vehicle. It introduces several key stylistic elements intended for future consumer models, most notably the next-generation RDX Hybrid. A standout feature is the ‘Phantom Lighting’ technology, where LED headlights and taillights remain invisible within the bodywork when turned off and emerge only when illuminated.

Other notable design features include butterfly doors, an active rear spoiler, and a matte titanium finish. The interior emphasizes a minimalist, driver-centric cockpit using sustainable materials such as recycled polyester Alcantara and ‘CircuLeather’. While the concept’s specific powertrain was not officially detailed, its design and proportions suggest a focus on high-performance electric or hybrid capabilities.
