Ada Guzmán announces candidacy for CIPESA presidency

Journalist Ada Guzmán Calcaño has announced her candidacy to preside over the Círculo de Periodistas de la Salud (CIPESA) for the 2026-2028 term. Running under the slogan ‘CIPESA Somos Todos’, her platform focuses on participatory management and institutional strengthening.

Guzmán’s proposals include the creation of the ‘Teófilo Abreu’ National Congress of Health Communication and Journalism to facilitate professional updates. She also aims to update member registration and identification, and seek health protection alliances for members currently without medical insurance.

To support professional growth, she intends to promote job opportunities within health-related institutions and media outlets. Academically, she proposes pursuing a Master’s degree in Strategic Health Communication and continuing efforts to establish a National Health Journalist Day in the Dominican Republic.
