Ada Guzmán registers candidacy for CIPESA presidency

Journalist Ana Yberka (Ada) Guzmán Calcaño has officially submitted her candidacy for the presidency of the Círculo de Periodistas de la Salud (CIPESA) for the 2026–2028 term. Her slate, titled ‘CIPESA Somos Todos’, was formally registered with the CIPESA Electoral Commission at the Colegio Dominicano de Periodistas.

Guzmán’s platform focuses on the social protection and well-being of journalists, particularly those working independently. She proposes updating the membership registry to identify professionals lacking medical insurance and seeks to establish alliances with public and private institutions to provide health coverage and preventive programs.

In addition to social welfare, the proposal emphasizes professional development through scholarships, training, and specialized workshops. The electoral process is scheduled to conclude with elections on October 24, 2026.
