ADA Möbelfabrik to auction 6,000 items following insolvency
Following its insolvency in March 2026, the Austrian furniture manufacturer ADA Möbelfabrik GmbH is beginning a large-scale liquidation of its assets. Starting August 24, an online auction will feature approximately 6,000 items from the company's headquarters in Anger, Styria.
The auction includes finished furniture such as beds and sofas, as well as industrial machinery, the company's vehicle fleet, and other fixed assets. The sale is being conducted by the auction house Aurena on behalf of the insolvency administrator to generate liquidity for creditors.
The insolvency has resulted in the closure of the production and office site in Anger, leading to the loss of roughly 180 jobs. The company cited weak demand, consumer restraint, the decline of retail furniture trade, and a broader crisis in the European furniture market as primary reasons for the filing. While the Austrian headquarters has closed, the company aims to continue in a reduced form through its international locations in Hungary and Romania, which employ approximately 1,000 people.
