ADAB completes drone operator training for plant defense

The Bahia State Agricultural Defense Agency (ADAB) has concluded a drone operator training course in Juazeiro. The program included theoretical and practical instruction on drone operation and its application in plant defense, specifically for monitoring mango orchards and controlling fruit flies.

Conducted between October 20 and 22 at the SENAR Fruit Growing Center of Excellence, the training involved staff from seven different ADAB units. This initiative expands the agency's capacity to use aerial imagery and digital image processing tools to support agricultural defense planning.

This training follows recent technological advancements within the agency, such as the use of tablets for field activities and the implementation of the Bahia Agricultural Defense System (SIDAB). ADAB also plans to establish an Information Technology Service Center to improve public access to its services.
