Adabor house occupation attempt leads to police shootout and two injuries

Two suspects were shot and injured during a police operation in the Adabor area of Dhaka following an attempt to forcibly occupy an eight-story residence in Shyamoli Housing. The incident stems from a case filed on September 27 regarding house occupation, vandalism, and extortion.

According to police, during a raid on Monday night, a group of seven to eight individuals armed with sharp weapons attacked the police team. Officers returned fire in self-defense, wounding Rajib Hawlader and Sagar (also known as Choto Bigar). Rajib is identified as a primary suspect in a high-profile murder case, while Sagar has multiple existing cases against him. Four individuals were arrested at the scene, and various weapons, including machetes and samurai swords, were recovered.

The victims of the attempted occupation reported that a group of 15 to 20 individuals, some armed with pistols, attacked the property earlier on a Saturday morning. The attackers allegedly demanded money and attempted to break into the home owned by businessman Aminur Rahman, causing significant damage to gates and windows. Residents expressed fear following the repeated attempts to seize the property.
