ADAC Cyclassics Hamburg 2026 features toughened course profile

The 2026 ADAC Cyclassics Hamburg, a World Tour one-day race scheduled for August 16, will feature a modified course that presents a greater challenge to sprinters. The 207-kilometer route runs from Buxtehude to Hamburg, with the first third of the race remaining largely flat.

The race organizers have added 30 extra kilometers and additional ascents to the key Waseberg climb located on the banks of the Elbe. The Waseberg is a short, explosive 1-kilometer climb with gradients reaching 16%. The course includes multiple loops around Hamburg, with the climb being tackled at 120, 78, 67, 27, and 12 kilometers from the finish line.

While the race has historically favored sprinters, the increased difficulty of the climbs provides opportunities for classics specialists. Following the final climbs, the course returns to a flat stretch toward central Hamburg, facilitating a potential sprint finish.
