ADAC Saarland-Pfalz Rally cancelled over heat and fire risk
The ADAC Saarland‑Pfalz Rally, scheduled for 14‑15 August 2026, was cancelled after organizers, regional clubs and authorities deemed the ongoing heat, dryness and heightened fire danger too unsafe for participants, officials and spectators. The decision was confirmed by ADAC, which said no responsible solution could be found despite exploring alternatives, and that safety remained the top priority.
Series Manager Yves Matton expressed disappointment but emphasized the necessity of the move: “The cancellation of the Saarland‑Pfalz Rally is obviously disappointing for everyone involved, but safety always comes first.” Championship coordinator Julien Frère added that the organizers are in close contact to assess possible calendar adjustments. The cancellation removes a key points‑scoring round for the Porsche Rally Trophy Benelux, where Romain Delhez currently leads the championship with 111 points, followed by Loïc Pirot, Jean‑Baptiste Bodet and others, making the remaining rallies decisive for the 2026 title race.
