ADAC warns drivers on how to handle insects inside vehicles

The ADAC cautions motorists that insects such as bees, wasps or spiders can inadvertently enter a car and create dangerous distractions while driving. Spokesperson Oliver Reidegeld (ADAC Hessen‑Thüringen) advises drivers to stay calm, reduce speed, pull over safely, and turn on hazard lights. Opening a window often lets the insect exit on its own, and drivers should avoid exiting the vehicle unless traffic allows. Allergy sufferers are urged to keep windows closed, use air‑conditioning on hot days, and ensure an allergy pass and emergency kit are readily available. The ADAC also notes that nests built in cars pose additional hazards.
