Adam Bakouni chooses to represent Morocco national team

Adam Bakouni, a 20-year-old right-back playing for the Italian club Monza, has chosen to represent Morocco internationally. Born in Poland to a Moroccan father and an Italian mother, Bakouni previously played for Italy's youth national teams.

Bakouni has been called up to the Morocco under-23 national team by coach Jamal Ait Ben Idder for upcoming friendly matches against Mali and Tanzania. These matches serve as preparation for the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Standing at 1.92 meters, Bakouni is noted for his versatility, capable of playing as both a right-back and a winger. His inclusion is seen as part of a broader strategy by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation to recruit players of Moroccan descent playing in European leagues to strengthen the national team's future depth, particularly in positions occupied by established players like Achraf Hakimi.
