Adam Březík wins Barum Czech Rally Zlín
Adam Březík secured his first FIA European Rally Championship (ERC) victory at the Barum Czech Rally Zlín. Driving a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2, the Czech driver maintained a lead from Saturday afternoon to finish 21.2 seconds ahead of Teemu Suninen.
Teemu Suninen finished second, a result that strengthens his position as the ERC championship leader. Andrea Mabellini took third place, marking the first ERC podium for the Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale model after winning the Power Stage.
The event was characterized by extreme conditions, including high temperatures and deteriorating asphalt surfaces. These factors led to several high-profile retirements, including 11-time Barum winner Jan Kopecký, who withdrew following a mechanical failure caused by a stone.
In the general ERC standings, Suninen maintains a significant lead over Mabellini and Miko Marczyk. Simone Tempestini finished sixth in the rally, moving up to sixth place in the overall championship standings.
