Adam Bresnu reaches U.S. Amateur quarterfinals, making history for Moroccan golf
Adam Bresnu, a 22-year-old Moroccan golfer, has made history by becoming the first representative from Morocco to reach the quarterfinals of the U.S. Amateur Championship. Competing at the Merion Golf Club in Pennsylvania, Bresnu secured his place in the top eight after qualifying with scores of 72 and 68, followed by match-play victories over Ward Harris, Finn Koelle, and Max Herendeen.
Bresnu is currently ranked within the top 30 of the World Amateur Golf Ranking. His career includes significant achievements in the American collegiate system, including nine victories during two seasons at Odessa College, where he received the 2025 Jack Nicklaus Award, and subsequent success at Texas Tech University, where he earned All-American honors.
His international performance also includes a sixth-place finish at the 2024 PIF Saudi International, making the cut at the 2025 Hero Dubai Desert Classic, and a third-place individual finish at the 2025 World Amateur Team Championships in Singapore. Bresnu is a product of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation’s ‘Road to The Tour’ program.
