Adam Gee appointed to referee NRL Grand Final

The NRL has confirmed the officiating crew for the upcoming Grand Final between the Sydney Roosters and the Newcastle Knights. Adam Gee has been appointed to referee his second Grand Final, having previously officiated the 2023 decider.

Ashley Klein will have no role in the Grand Final festivities, including the Bunker. Klein’s absence follows a series of controversial officiating moments, most notably a missed penalty during the Warriors versus Knights elimination semi-final in Auckland and debated try decisions during the Roosters’ preliminary final against the Dolphins.

Chris Butler will serve in the NRL Bunker, while Tyson Brough and Phil Henderson will act as touch judges. The appointment of Gee marks a significant statistical trend for the Roosters, who have won six of their seven matches this season under his officiating.
