Adam Hamilton Wins Kansas Democratic Senate Primary

Megachurch pastor Adam Hamilton, who leads a United Methodist congregation of about 24,000 in the Kansas City suburbs, secured the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate in Kansas. His victory sets up a general‑election contest against incumbent Republican Senator Roger Marshall.

Kansas has not elected a Democrat to the Senate since 1932, making Hamilton’s primary win a potential historic breakthrough. The state currently has a Democratic governor, Laura Kelly, and a Democratic member of the U.S. House, Sharice Davids, but remains a deep‑red stronghold at the federal level. Hamilton defeated a field of ten other Democratic candidates to claim the nomination.
