Adam Masina retires from football to pursue coaching
Moroccan international defender Adam Masina has officially retired from professional football at the age of 32. The decision follows a period of physical struggles, including a serious cruciate ligament injury in 2022 and a hip injury earlier in 2026, which hindered his ability to secure a new club after leaving Torino.
Masina, who was a key figure in Morocco’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) campaign, will transition into coaching. He is set to join the technical staff of the Italian fourth-division club Progresso Calcio.
Throughout his career, Masina played for several notable European clubs, including Bologna, Udinese, and Watford, and earned 28 caps for the Moroccan national team. His final major appearance was during the 2025 CAN tournament.
