Adam Małysz eligible for increased Olympic pension in Poland

The Polish Ministry of Sport and Tourism has announced an increase in Olympic pensions, which will amount to 5,116.99 PLN per month starting in January 2026. This benefit is tied to public sector wages and is adjusted using a constant multiplier of 1.8 applied to the base amount for civil service members.

Adam Małysz, a prominent four-time Olympic medalist and former ski jumping icon, is among the athletes eligible for this pension. To qualify for the benefit, athletes must hold Polish citizenship, have no criminal record, be at least 40 years old, have ended their professional sports careers, and have won a medal at the Olympic Games or the Goodwill Games. The pension is exempt from income tax and social or health insurance contributions.
