Adam Mickiewicz University launches urban accessibility research
The University Accessibility Knowledge Center (UCWoD) at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań is conducting a research project to improve urban pedestrian accessibility. Funded by the National Centre for Research and Development, the initiative aims to analyze existing urban infrastructure—including sidewalks, pedestrian paths, squares, and crossings—to develop modern design standards.
The project specifically focuses on the needs of people with disabilities and those with limited mobility. The findings from an ongoing survey, which remains open until September 15, will be used to create official guidelines for cities and public institutions to reduce physical barriers in urban environments.
