Adam Novotný signs three-year contract with Vancouver Canucks

Adam Novotný, the top Czech prospect from this year's NHL draft, has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Vancouver Canucks. As the 24th overall pick, Novotný is expected to earn an average of up to $1.075 million per season if he breaks into the Canucks' main roster.

Novotný, a former winger for Mountfield HK, previously played in the OHL where he recorded 65 points in 58 games. His agent, Petr Peleška, noted that the timely conclusion of negotiations demonstrates the Vancouver organization's serious commitment to the 18-year-old talent.
