Adam Pavlásek replaces Tomáš Macháč for Davis Cup tie against USA

Czech Davis Cup captain Tomáš Berdych has announced that Adam Pavlásek will replace Tomáš Macháč for the upcoming tie against the United States. Macháč, who has been recovering from a leg injury and has lost his last three matches since returning to the court, was deemed not the best option for the matchup against a strong American squad.

Pavlásek will join Patrik Rikla in the doubles rotation. The rest of the Czech team includes Jiří Lehečka, Jakub Menšík, and Vít Kopřiva. The tie is scheduled for September 18 and 19 at the O2 Arena in Prague, marking the return of the Davis Cup to this venue for the first time in thirteen years.

The United States lineup is expected to feature Ben Shelton, Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul, and Christian Harrison. The winner of this tie will advance to the final tournament in Bologna, Italy.
