Adam Scott shares story of daughter watching his ‘The Office’ audition in class

Actor Adam Scott shared an anecdote on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ regarding his daughter’s experience in a prestigious New York acting class. During a summer program, an instructor used Scott’s audition tape for the role of Jim Halpert in ‘The Office’ as a teaching tool, comparing it directly to John Krasinski’s successful audition to analyze why one actor was cast over the other.

The instructor was unaware that Scott’s daughter was a student in the class. Scott noted that his daughter was “mortified” by the experience of watching her father’s failed audition being critiqued. The teacher reportedly realized the connection after noticing the student’s last name as she was leaving the classroom.

While Scott did not secure the role in ‘The Office’, he later starred in the NBC comedy ‘Parks and Recreation’ working with the same writers. He is currently filming the third season of the Apple TV series ‘Severance’.
