A grand jury in Washington State has indicted James Cody Bryant, 30, for conspiracy to murder persons in a foreign country. The indictment relates to the February 10 mass shooting at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School, which resulted in seven deaths, including the shooter, Jesse Van Rootselaar. The indictment alleges Bryant agreed as early as August 2025 to record and livestream the shooting.

Separately, in British Columbia, the Crown has rested its case in the second-degree murder trial of Adam Troy Mann. Mann is accused of the June 2024 stabbing death of Tori Dunn during an alleged home invasion in Surrey’s Port Kells neighbourhood. Forensic testimony included DNA evidence from a kitchen knife, which experts stated was a highly probable match to Dunn, with a likelihood of one in 290 quintillion that the blood belonged to someone else.
