Adamawa State approves ₦5 billion for infrastructure and agriculture

The Adamawa State Executive Council, presided over by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has approved approximately ₦5.04 billion for various development projects and programs. These approvals cover sectors including education, agriculture, infrastructure, and security.

In the agricultural sector, the council approved ₦2.198 billion for the procurement of 46,300 bags of assorted fertilizers to support the state’s dry-season farming program. Additionally, ₦78.952 million was allocated for herbicides and pesticides to assist farmers in sustaining crop production beyond the rainy season.

Educational and infrastructure projects include ₦1.752 billion for constructing office blocks at the Adamawa post-primary school management board in Yola to replace aging colonial-era structures. Furthermore, ₦627.69 million has been designated for road networks, drainage systems, and culverts at the Mega Science and Technical Secondary School in the Hong Local Government Area.
