Adamawa State Governor Fintiri Approves ₦609 bn 2027 Budget Focused on Education and Rural Electrification
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri presided over the 12th meeting of the Adamawa State Executive Council, which approved a ₦609.154 billion budget for the 2027 fiscal year. The plan allocates roughly 54 % to capital projects and 46 % to recurrent spending, emphasizing infrastructure, social services and economic growth.
Key allocations include ₦459 million for biology teaching materials for 84 secondary schools and ₦248 million to electrify the Morawo and Zungwalu communities in Demsa Local Government Area. The council also approved a consultant to conduct a Technical Readiness Assessment for the Rural Electrification Agency, aiming to secure about US$5 million from the World Bank for further rural power projects.
The budget will be submitted to the Adamawa State House of Assembly for legislative consideration, reflecting the administration’s commitment to improving education quality and expanding electricity access in underserved rural areas.
