Adamawa State leaders mourn death of APC chieftain Sunny Monidafe
Political leaders in Adamawa State have expressed grief following the death of Dr. Sunny Sylvester Monidafe, widely known as Jagaban Jimeta, on Sunday, October 25.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri described Monidafe as a significant loss to the political class, highlighting his roles as an investor and political strategist. The Governor noted that Monidafe’s leadership and strategic contributions would have continued to benefit both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the state.
Ahmed Galadima Aminu, the APC governorship candidate in Adamawa, also issued a condolence statement, characterizing Monidafe as an institution in Adamawa politics. Galadima noted that as a founding member of the APC, Monidafe played a crucial role in the party's merger and its subsequent growth within the North-East region. He added that Monidafe’s experience and counsel would have been particularly valuable as the party prepares for the 2027 electoral cycle.
