Adamawa State suspends education board secretary over alleged irregularities

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved the immediate suspension of Birsan Penuel, the Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Post Primary Schools Management Board. The suspension follows allegations of irregularities in the discharge of Penuel’s duties.

A thorough investigation into the matter is expected to commence immediately. To ensure the board’s activities continue without interruption, the Governor has directed the most senior Director within the board to oversee its affairs in the interim.

Governor Fintiri stated that the move is part of an effort to sanitize and reposition the state’s education sector. He emphasized a commitment to protecting the integrity of the system and ensuring quality education for students, warning that any actions undermining progress in the sector will be dealt with decisively.
