ADAMED Pharma to invest 100 million euros in Spanish manufacturing plant
Polish pharmaceutical and biotechnology company ADAMED Pharma has announced a strategic investment plan exceeding 100 million euros for its newly acquired manufacturing plant in Riells i Viabrea, Spain. The company officially incorporated the facility into its production network on July 1, 2026, following its acquisition from Sanofi.
The investment, which extends through 2034, aims to modernize digital infrastructure, upgrade production equipment, expand storage capacity, and automate logistics. A primary goal of the expansion is to triple the plant's production capacity, increasing annual output from 3 billion tablets to 10 billion tablets, with a target completion date for this capacity increase set for 2029.
This acquisition marks ADAMED Pharma's first production site in Western Europe, complementing its existing facilities in Poland and Vietnam. The company intends to use the Riells site as a strategic hub to strengthen the European medicine supply chain and potentially expand exports to South America. The plant currently employs over 260 professionals and exports products to 84 countries.
