Şadan Sakınan to remain in detention in KPSS theft case

A court has decided to maintain the detention of Şadan Sakınan, a former Deputy Chief Prosecutor of Ankara, in connection with the investigation into the theft of KPSS (Public Personnel Selection Examination) questions. Sakınan, who was dismissed from his post following the July 15, 2016 coup attempt and had been wanted for approximately 10 years, was apprehended on March 2.

During the hearing at the 3rd Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation, several witnesses provided testimony. Former HSYK Deputy Chairman Ahmet Hamsici testified that Sakınan used to refer to members of the FETÖ organization as “our friends.” Other witnesses, including former Ministry of Justice Undersecretary Erdem and former ÖSYM President Ali Demir, provided details regarding the investigation into the 2010 exam questions and Sakınan's role during that period.
