Turkish film festivals announce upcoming programs and themes

Major film festivals in Turkey are preparing for their upcoming editions. The 33rd International Adana Golden Koza Film Festival, organized by the Adana Metropolitan Municipality, will run from September 26 to October 4. This year’s theme is ‘A World Without Plastic,’ highlighting environmental issues such as microplastics. The festival includes the Çukurova Golden Koza Academy, which will host masterclasses with figures like Ferzan Özpetek, and a World Cinema program featuring 26 films from 23 countries.

The 63rd International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival is scheduled for October 24–31, 2026. The festival has announced its selections for the National Short Film and National Documentary Film competitions. In the documentary category, 10 films will compete, with nine of them making their world premieres in Antalya. The short film category also features 10 films, seven of which are scheduled for world premieres. Additionally, the festival has announced the jury for its Cinema Schools Student Film Competition.

As part of its community outreach, the Adana Golden Koza Festival continues to hold open-air screenings in cities affected by earthquakes, such as Hatay, to utilize the healing power of cinema.
