Adana artisan preserves traditional handmade soda production

Hacı Alyaput, a 61-year-old vendor in Adana, Turkey, has spent 35 years practicing the traditional craft of making handmade soda. Using a specialized pressurized system, Alyaput combines ice, soda, lemon juice, and strawberry flavoring to create a natural beverage without additives.

Alyaput learned the trade from his uncles, who had been practicing the craft since 1970. He noted that while the profession was once more common, it has become increasingly rare. Customers have praised the drink for its natural ingredients, noting it lacks the bloating effects associated with mass-produced commercial sodas.
