Brother kills sibling in Adana over shop‑rent dispute
On 7 June around 20:00 in the Yenidoğan neighbourhood of Yüreğir, Adana, a family dispute over the unequal division of shop rent escalated into violence. Muhammet Palaz (55) confronted his brother Ercan Palaz (49), who shot him in the arm. In response, Muhammet stabbed Ercan multiple times, causing his death.
Police investigations revealed that the brothers were at odds because their father’s shop rent was not being shared equally. After treatment, Muhammet was released from hospital, taken into custody by the homicide bureau, and later detained pending trial. He told authorities he acted in self‑defence and regretted the killing. The case is now before a court in Adana.
