Adana Commodity Exchange hosts citrus sector strategic meeting

Stakeholders in the citrus industry met at the Adana Commodity Exchange (ATB) to discuss the future of citrus production in the Çukurova region. The meeting brought together producers, public officials, and industry representatives to address the entire value chain, from production and storage to marketing, industrial processing, and export.

ATB Chairman Şahin Bilgiç emphasized that the primary goal is not merely to sell products but to create sustainable markets for every kilogram produced. To ensure the economic value of producers' labor, the sector must strengthen all stages of the chain simultaneously.

Key strategies discussed include expanding export reach into the Middle East, Gulf countries, Central Asia, the Far East, Southeast Asia, and Africa. Additionally, participants proposed initiatives to boost domestic consumption by targeting institutions such as municipalities, schools, universities, hospitals, and hotels.
