Adana Demirspor supporters protest financial crisis at municipality
Adana Demirspor supporters gathered in front of the Adana Metropolitan Municipality to protest the club's ongoing financial and administrative difficulties. During the demonstration, some fans dismantled iron security barriers erected in front of the municipal building, expressing anger over the measures.
Club President Ertan Zeybek addressed the crowd, stating that the club has been struggling for eight months without sufficient support from local authorities. He criticized the level of assistance received, noting that only 2 million lira had been provided in that period, which he described as inadequate. Zeybek emphasized that maintaining the team requires more than just supporter efforts and called on city officials to protect the club as a significant local value.
The club is currently facing several challenges, including competing in the TFF 2. Lig and a six-point deduction imposed by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee. Additionally, legal concerns have arisen following a claim made to FIFA by former player Jonas Svensson regarding unpaid wages. The protest concluded peacefully following Zeybek's press statement.
