Adana: Down syndrome activist Savaş Yavuz meets singer Celal Karature

In the Feke district of Adana, Savaş Yavuz, a man with Down syndrome known for his passion for the call to prayer (ezan) and religious hymns (ilahi), met with social media personality and hymn singer Celal Karature.

The meeting was facilitated by Imam Muhammed Doğaç, who had known Yavuz years ago while serving at the Akoluk Mosque. Although Doğaç has since been transferred to the Mezitli district of Mersin, he maintained his connection with Yavuz and helped organize the encounter.

During the meeting at Akoluk Mosque, Karature greeted Yavuz with the hymn ‘Kâbe’de Hacılar Hu Der Allah’. As a gift, Karature presented Yavuz with a portable microphone to allow him to practice his singing more comfortably at home. The meeting follows Yavuz's recent successful pilgrimage to Umrah.
