Adana fish sales drop significantly due to heat

High temperatures in Adana have caused a significant decline in fish sales, with local vendors reporting a drop of 80% to 90% during the summer months.

Fishmongers noted that the decrease is partly due to consumer perception that fish is not suitable for hot weather. To combat spoilage caused by the heat, sellers are using continuous amounts of ice to maintain freshness. While variety is limited to species such as sea bass and sea bream, prices for these items have seen some adjustments, with sea bass reaching 500 lira per kilogram and sea bream at 350 lira.
