Adana Metropolitan Municipality launches Kadesh Peace Road Cultural Route
The Adana Metropolitan Municipality has officially introduced the ‘Kadesh Peace Road Cultural Route’ during a presentation held at the Seyhan Çırçır Art Center. The route is designed to showcase the historical layers of the region, spanning civilizations from the Hittites and Romans to the Byzantine and Ottoman eras.
Starting from the cultural gateway of Misis, the route passes through several significant historical and natural sites, including Sirkeli Höyük, Yılankale, Tararlı Höyük, Anavarza Ancient City, Kozan Castle, Feke, Saimbeyli, and Şar Ancient City. The project aims to preserve cultural heritage, support rural tourism, and promote the region's unique values to a global audience.
During the event, officials including Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar emphasized the importance of protecting Adana’s historical and gastronomic identity. The initiative draws inspiration from the Kadesh Peace Treaty, seeking to foster friendship and cultural discovery through the exploration of ancient traces and traditional lifestyles.
