Manisa jewelry store robbery attempt thwarted by local shopkeepers

In Salihli, Manisa, an attempted armed robbery at a jewelry store resulted in two injuries. The suspect, identified as Z. B., arrived on a motorcycle wearing a helmet and a mask. After entering the shop and demanding gold, the suspect opened fire when met with resistance, wounding the shop owner, M. Ş., and another individual, N. Ç.

Before successfully fleeing with any valuables, the suspect was intercepted by local shopkeepers. One witness, Mehmet Ay, reported throwing a paving stone at the suspect, which caused the weapon to fall. The suspect was then tackled and subdued by Ay and other nearby tradesmen before being handed over to the police.

Separately, in the Kozan and Aladağ districts, an elderly couple, Mehmet and Fatiş Gül, lost their home and lifelong belongings in a forest fire. Following the incident, the Ogün Abi Association provided the couple with essential household goods and a new electric wheelchair for Mehmet Gül to assist with his mobility.
