Adana vendor’s stall removed after refusing to sell two lahmacuns

In the Seyhan district of Adana, street vendor A. D. refused to sell a mother two lahmacuns for her child, saying “I don’t sell less than five.” When the woman asked for a bag, the vendor again objected, citing packaging costs. Bystanders recorded the exchange, and the video spread widely on social media, prompting public outrage.

The Turkish Ministry of Trade, through spokesperson Bekir Kaplan, said the authorities would act against behavior that harms public conscience and would protect consumer rights. Seyhan municipal police subsequently seized the vendor’s mobile stall and ordered its removal. A. D. later posted an apology video, expressing regret for his conduct.
