Haluk Emre Tetik’s traffic dispute with doctor ends with no prosecution

On 12 December 2025, a traffic altercation occurred on Hekimköy Boulevard in Sarıçam, Adana. Driver Haluk Emre Tetik (26) used a selector to change lanes and was confronted by Dr M. M. (43), a child‑health specialist. The doctor shouted insults, calling Tetik a “harasser” and “rapist,” while Tetik recorded the exchange on his phone. He filed a complaint, and the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office ruled that the case did not merit public prosecution, issuing a fine to the doctor for insult and stating “no need for prosecution.”

Tetik posted the video online, sparking widespread public support and prompting him to announce plans to appeal the decision and pursue civil damages. He said, “Birinin annesine ve hatta anneannesine küfredip, ceza almamak bu kadar kolay olmamalı. En ağır cezayı almasını istiyorum,” emphasizing his belief that the doctor’s conduct was unacceptable.
