Adana woman reports son for stealing pension and phone

In the Seyhan district of Adana, a 69-year-old cancer patient named Şerife Güray reported her son, İbrahim K., for stealing her pension and personal belongings. On August 26, the 42-year-old man allegedly convinced his mother to hand over her bank card and mobile phone under the pretext of withdrawing her 21,000 TL pension and paying her rent.

After the money was withdrawn, the son disappeared and failed to return home. Güray discovered the theft upon checking with her bank and subsequently filed a report with the Bağlar Police Station. She has since canceled her bank card and mobile phone line.

The incident has left Güray in severe financial distress, unable to pay her rent, utility bills, or purchase heating fuel for the upcoming winter. She noted that her son has a prior criminal record involving fraud and has served significant time in prison. In response to the theft, Güray stated she has disowned her son.
