Adani Energy Solutions wins ₹4,700 crore transmission project in Maharashtra

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) has secured a transmission project in Maharashtra valued at approximately ₹4,700 crore (roughly $493 million). The project, managed under the special purpose vehicle Satara Power Transmission Ltd, aims to evacuate 4,500 MW of renewable energy generated in Karnataka to major consumption centers in Maharashtra.

The initiative will support the expanding pumped storage ecosystem in the Satara, Pune, and Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). Key infrastructure developments include the establishment of a 765/400 kV substation in Satara, a 765 kV double-circuit transmission line connecting Kolhapur and Satara, and the augmentation of the Kolhapur pooling station.

AESL expects to complete the project within 36 months. The expansion will add 562 circuit kilometers of transmission lines and 9,000 MVA of transformation capacity to the company’s existing portfolio. CEO Kandarp Patel stated that the project will create a vital transmission backbone to support India’s clean energy transition and long-term decarbonization goals.
