Adani Green Energy exceeds 20 GW renewable capacity with Khavda solar project
Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has surpassed 20,000 MW of operational renewable energy generation capacity following the commissioning of a 139 MW solar power project in Khavda, Gujarat. This milestone brings the company’s total operational renewable capacity to 20,280.80 MW and its Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity to 3,551 MWh.
At a recent summit, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani emphasized that large-scale infrastructure projects, such as the Khavda renewable energy complex and Mundra and Vizhinjam ports, act as catalysts for regional economic ecosystems rather than just meeting immediate demand. He argued that traditional credit rating frameworks must evolve to account for the strategic value and integrated platforms created by these developments, where energy, data, and manufacturing converge.
Adani noted that projects like Mundra have transformed from simple ports into massive industrial hubs, and suggested that new rating models should recognize the ecosystem multipliers and adjacency value provided by modern, sophisticated infrastructure.
