ADAS technology reduces collisions while Subaru updates Impreza
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are significantly reducing rear-end collisions. According to data from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), vehicles equipped with frontal collision alerts and autonomous emergency braking (AEB) can reduce rear-end crashes by up to 50%. These systems utilize high-resolution cameras, proximity radar, and ultrasonic sensors to monitor vehicle surroundings and intervene if a driver fails to react to imminent risks.
In the automotive market, Subaru is repositioning its Impreza in the United States to remain competitive in the C-segment. The updated lineup features a new Base trim, replacing the previous Sport trim, with a starting price of $24,595. This new entry-level model includes an upgraded 2.5-liter four-cylinder boxer engine producing 180 hp and 241 Nm of torque, an increase over the previous 2.0-liter engine. The higher-end RS trim remains available at $29,495, with the new models expected to reach U.S. dealerships by late 2026.
