Aday Mara shines in NBA preseason with Oklahoma City Thunder

Spanish center Aday Mara is making a significant impact during the NBA preseason with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Standing 2.21 meters tall, the former NCAA champion has recorded impressive performances, including a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds in his third game, and a 10-point contribution in a victory against the Indiana Pacers.

Mara has drawn attention for his defensive presence, recording five blocks in a game against the Atlanta Hawks and adding three more in the subsequent win over Indiana. Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault noted that the team has been working with Mara to refine his free-throw shooting to build a more complete skill set for his professional career.

Regarding his transition to the United States, Mara has discussed the challenges of cultural and linguistic adaptation. He noted that communication barriers can sometimes make it difficult to connect with teammates during social moments, though he continues to progress physically and professionally within the Thunder rotation.
