ADC selects candidates for Nigeria's 2027 Senate and House races

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) announced the results of its internal primaries ahead of Nigeria's 2027 national elections.

In Oyo State, Dr. Kazeem Adesina Abidikugu, known as KSO, was declared the winner of the ADC House of Representatives primary for the Ibadan North East/South East federal constituency, receiving 1,619 votes. Speaking after his victory, Abidikugu said, “If I am elected, I am going to bring about purposeful representation,” and pledged to focus on healthcare, poverty alleviation and sustainable development.

In Kogi State, Senator Ahmed Ogembe secured the ADC nomination for the Kogi Central senatorial district with 6,769 votes, far ahead of his sole opponent. Ogembe emphasized his experience, stating, “I am the most experienced in the race as we speak,” and promised to lead the party to victory in the 2027 elections.

Both candidates will represent the ADC in the upcoming general elections, aiming to increase the party’s presence in the National Assembly.
